Apogee Semiconductor Introduces the RelBridge™ Family!

Plano, Texas — Apogee Semiconductor has released the AP54RHC288 Arbiter, the industry’s first IC designed to prevent propagation of failure modes in power supply, motor control and other half-bridge and full-bridge applications. The AP54RHC288 prevents cross-conduction and shoot-through in these applications by preventing FET drivers from seeing two (2) high control signals, regardless of the state of the input control signals. The AP54RHC288 is SEE resilient and can be used to improve fault containment in mission critical applications.

“Since its founding, Apogee Semiconductor has been focused on changing the economics of space and enabling small satellite and large constellations. Our RelBridge™ family is an extension of our founding philosophy” states Anton Quiroz, CRO of Apogee Semiconductor, “The RelBridge™ components serve as a crucial bridge between non-radiation tolerant components in systems and more stringent reliability requirements our customers are often working to achieve.”

“In addition to the AP54RHC288, the other component in the RelBridge™ family is the AP54RHC301. The AP54RHC301 Voter enables triple mode redundancy for mission critical applications by providing reliable arbitration between redundant channels. It is the industry’s first standalone Voter IC that enables more reliable systems without customers resorting to purchasing a slew of radiation hardened components for their small satellite systems. The AP54RHC301 is also designed to prevent fault propagation between non-radiation tolerant components in systems.” continued Quiroz.

For customers requiring higher levels of radiation tolerance, 300krad (Si) variants are available for GEO and deep space applications.

Apogee Semiconductor is Reaching a New Apex in Radiation Tolerance!

Plano, Texas — Apogee Semiconductor, Inc., a leading provider of technologies and products for space and other extreme environments, announces today the launch of their AF54RHC GEO family of radiation-hardened integrated circuits (ICs) designed for medium earth orbits (MEO), geostationary orbits (GEO), and deep space missions.

The AF54RHC GEO family features essential capabilities for GEO applications, including a required 300 krad (Si) total ionizing dose (TID) performance and greater than 80 MeV·mg/cm² single event effect (SEE) performance. These ICs operate from 1.65 V to 5.5 V and are available in TSSOP 14 and TSSOP 20 pin packages that follow a QML-P “like” flow.

Anton Quiroz, CRO of Apogee Semiconductor, states, “This new family builds on the successful flight heritage of our AP54RHC LEO family. Our customers using the AP54RHC LEO family sought 300 krad (Si) for their GEO missions, prompting us to develop the GEO family with pin-to-pin compatibility for an easy upgrade path to GEO missions. We are currently offering nine variants of the GEO family for sampling, with many more on the way.”

In addition to the new GEO family, Apogee Semiconductor is also enhancing the TID radiation performance of its AP54RHC LEO family from 30 krad to 70 krad TID at 3.3 Vdc. This upgrade will enable our customers to use our LEO products in more demanding radiation environments that require additional resilience.
