Expanded quality and screening options support mission deployment across spacecraft power architectures

PLANO, Texas, August 4, 2026 – Apogee Semiconductor today announced flight-grade versions of the ARPS1020A5 radiation-hardened smart high-side power switches. The new flight-grade options give space and defense system designers a path from evaluation and design-in to mission deployment using the same compact package, protection functions, and telemetry architecture.

The ARPS1020A5 is rated for 20 V, 8 A operation, 23 mΩ RDSON and supports standard 3.3 V, 5 V, and 12 V rails. This device provides a consistent approach to protection and current monitoring from regulated point-of-load domains through primary power distribution.

Each device integrates a power FET, programmable overcurrent protection, short-circuit and overtemperature protection, adjustable soft-start, fault reporting, and current-sense telemetry in a 3 mm × 5 mm, 24-pin QFN package. A proprietary current-sharing architecture also allows devices to operate in parallel for higher-current applications.

“With flight-grade versions now available, engineering teams can evaluate and deploy the ARPS family within the same device architecture while selecting the quality and screening flow that fits their mission requirements, cost objectives, and schedule,” said Mark Hamlyn, General Manager, Apogee Semiconductor. “The ARPS family brings protection, fault reporting, and current telemetry closer to the load, helping programs build resilient power distribution across a wide range of spacecraft rails.”

From Evaluation to Flight-Grade Availability

This release builds on Apogee’s February 2026 evaluation-grade launch of the ARPS family. It advances the company’s roadmap for modular, fault-managed building blocks across control, sensing, and power distribution. When used with Apogee’s AxIO16 family of radiation-hardened I/O expanders, ARPS devices support system-level fault detection, containment, and observability at critical power and logic boundaries.
